For a flat $70 a month, you get unlimited access during open hours to our film developing, printing and scanning facilities. Use it to work through a class assignment, perfect a print or build your portfolio after graduation.
It's also a chance to be part of a working community darkroom, surrounded by photographers who are happy to share what they know.
Open to students currently enrolled at a college, university or art school, and to graduates within one year of finishing their program. Please provide a valid student ID or proof of graduation when you sign up.

Shooting film but finishing digitally? Franklin Foto embraces hybrid photography, and this membership gives you everything you need to turn your analog beauties into digital gems.
For a flat $65 a month, you get unlimited access to our film scanners during open hours. That's about what a few rolls of lab scans would cost. Choose from our DSLR camera scanning setups and our flatbed scanner, whichever suits your negatives, slides or prints best.
Scanning your own film means you decide how your images look: the color, the contrast, the crop. No waiting on a lab, no generic settings and no expensive gear to buy and store at home. Just bring your film and make it yours.
New to scanning? No problem. Each station has step-by-step instruction sheets, and we're always around to help you get started.
Want to take your scans further? Our Lightroom 101 class teaches you how to edit your digitized images and make beautiful digital prints. It even comes with one finished print to take home.
Reservations are recommended, and you can book a scanner here. Walk-ins are always welcome when a scanner isn't reserved.

If the price of a membership or class is not in your means, please make use of the Sliding Scale and pay what makes sense for you.We also offer Hourly Rental (also available on the Sliding Scale).
Hourly rental does not need to be purchased ahead of time. Just come in and use the space then total us your hours used and use our self-checkout.

Once you have had your Intro to Darkroom Class (which comes with 3 weeks of Unlimited Membership) you are free to jump in and use the darkroom during all open hours.

Currently, the only resources that we recommend reservations for are the camera scanners. Walk-ins are welcome if there are no reservations for that time slot.
Make sure you have a spot by reserving at Scanner Reservations.Otherwise, feel free to walk in during open hours. If you are new to the space but have a working knowledge of how to develop & print (we will ask about your past experience and perhaps have you answer some general knowledge questions), we will start you off with a thorough orientation before getting started so please plan for an additional 30 minutes before beginning your work.

Yes! We sell 8×10 Ilford Multigrade RC paper by the sheet, as needed. We also usually have bulk-rolled 35 mm B&W Kentmere 400 36exp film, expired film, as well as negative sleeves.
