Here’s the details:

Theme: “Somewhere in St. Johns”

Drop off ready-to-hang work: November 15-17, 12-8PM

Opening Reception & Grand Opening Celebration: Thursday, November 21, 5-9PM

Exhibition Open to the Public: November 21 – December 19

Franklin FOTO, 8953 N. Lombard St, Portland OR, 97203

Open Wednesday through Sunday, 12 – 8PM

This exhibition will be open to everyone. All photographs submitted will be exhibited. Work produced by any analog or digital photographic process will be accepted.

We will be accepting submission of ready-to-hang photographs (each artist may submit up to 3 pieces) at our space November 15th - 17th, from noon until 8PM. When you drop off your piece(s) you will be asked to complete a short form with your name, title of the piece(s), what year it was created, and (if you’d like to sell the work) a retail price. (Franklin FOTO will take a 10% commission on all sales to cover our operating expenses.)

The theme is “Somewhere in St. Johns,” which means that your photographic work should have some sort of connection the neighborhood Franklin FOTO calls home – St. Johns. But this can be a very loose association: perhaps the photographs that were shot somewhere in the St. Johns area (we would include Cathedral Park, University Park and Portsmouth neighborhoods, as well as Kelley Point Park in this area)? You might consider the work symbolically to be exploring your own interpretation of a “St. Johns frame of mind.” Or maybe you produced a photogram or cyanotype in this area? Really just about any photographic image you think relates to our neighborhood is welcome.

As stated above, all work should be ready-to-hang – which means it’s either in a frame with wire or some sort of clip on the back that can be hung from a nail, or they can be loose prints that we will hang with clips from a string.

And please note, regardless of whether you submit to the show, everyone is invited to the Somewhere in St. Johns Opening Reception & Grand Opening Celebration on Thursday, November 21st, from 6-9PM. So please mark your calendar, and come out and party with us!

Feel free to message us back with any questions.
