Color Film Hand-Developing Workshops: March 10, 17 or 24, 6:30-8:30 p.m.

$65.00

Learn to hand-develop your own color negative C-41 film with Franklin FOTO co-founder Bobby Abrahamson, using our temperature-controlled color processing kit.

Topics covered will include:

  • Loading developing reels and tanks

  • Setting up and breaking down color processing kit

  • Adjusting development times for chemistry usage

  • Push & pull processing, and cross processing

Although the results of hand-processing color film are sometimes a little less than perfect (as compared with getting your film processed by machine at a color lab), the joy of doing it yourself by hand, and getting your negatives processed in about one hour is nothing less than pure photographic alchemy!

At the end if the class Bobby will do a quick demonstration of Franklin’s camera-scanning equipment. Color chemistry, developing equipment and a 35mm negative sleeve are included with the class.

Please Note: This is a single-night workshop, so please sign up for only one date. Each workshop is capped at 5 participants.

  • Please bring one roll of shot/exposed 35mm color negative film, ready to develop.

  • The film should say “process C-41” on it. For this workshop we can only accommodate a single 35mm roll of film per participant, without any push- or pull-processing. Once you complete the workshop, you can come back and develop 35mm or medium format film, also push- and pull-processing, and even cross-process slide film in the c-41 chemistry!

At Franklin FOTO we never want finances to be a barrier to access. Please feel free to use our sliding-scale to pay whatever amount makes sense for your budget.

Please note:
All guests must agree to and sign our Code of Conduct and Release Waiver. Please read and sign these documents prior to your class.
