Intro to Darkroom - June 28, 10 a.m. to 6 p.m.
Megan Sinclair returns to teach Intro to Darkroom. This time the entire 6-hour class will be taught in one day with a two hour break.
10 a.m.-1 p.m.: the class will learn to process film and develop black and white negatives.
3 p.m.-6 p.m.: will be spent printing photographs in the darkroom.
Class includes:
Film to shoot (students should pick up their roll before the class)
Negative sleeves
10 sheet of printing paper
Three weeks of Franklin Foto membership to continue practicing after the workshop
Throughout the workshop, you’ll receive guidance from our experienced instructors, who will share tips on best practices and help you troubleshoot common issues. Whether it’s perfecting the development process or fine-tuning your print’s contrast, they’ll be by your side to ensure you leave with the knowledge and skills to confidently use a darkroom on your own.
By the end of the workshop, you’ll have not only developed your own roll of black and white film but also created a series of prints from your negatives.
The workshop provides 1 roll of film, and 10 sheets of photographic paper for developing and printing during class time. The workshop also includes 3 additional weeks of membership - so you can continue to come in and develop more film and make more prints (you will need to provide your own extra film and paper for lab time outside of classes).
Class is capped at eight students.
