Color Film Developing & Scanning Workshop - July 12
Learn to hand-develop your own color negative C-41 film with Franklin FOTO’s temperature-controlled color processing kit. Then learn to scan your color negatives using our professional scanning equipment. Although the results of hand-processing color film are sometimes a little less than perfect (as compared with getting your film processed by machine at a color lab), the joy of doing it yourself by hand, and getting your negatives processed and scanned in a little less than 2 hours is nothing less than pure photographic alchemy!
Once you complete this class, you will be certified to use our color processing equipment, chemistry and scanning equipment for all your future color negative processing needs (standard hourly / monthly rental rates apply – these rental rates also include full use of all B&W developing, printing and scanning equipment & chemistry as well!)
Workshops are capped at 4 participants per each 3-hour block. Please bring one roll of shot/exposed 35mm color negative film, ready to develop. The film should say “process C-41” on it. You might also want to bring an SD-card or a USB thumb drive to bring home your scanned files. Color chemistry, scanning and developing equipment, and negative sleeves are included with the class.
Session #1: 10AM-1PM
Session #2: 1:30-4:30PM
Session #3: 5-8PM
All guests must agree to and sign our Code of Conduct and Release Waiver.
Please read and sign these documents prior to your class.
At Franklin FOTO we never want finances to be a barrier to access. Please feel free to use our sliding-scale to pay whatever amount makes sense for your budget.
